Abstract

Up to now in the high power cross-field microwave frequency multipliers the resonant magnetron oscillation systems were used. Frequency band in such devices usually does not exceed 1%. Therefore practical application of the devices requires creating the multipliers with wider band and better modulation characteristics. This paper presents the new broad band cascade two-electron stream VTM frequency multiplier and first data of experimental investigation. The device operates at a frequency bandwidth of 15%. Output signal power of the multiplier, using the 4-th harmonic, exceeds 900 W at a maximum gain about 24 dB. Complementary electron stream ensured the increase in an output signal power more than twice with respect to the one electron stream regime.
