A robust optical channel access system based on a speaker identiï¬cation authentication is proposed and demonstrated in this paper. The solution also enables optical access with remote speaker identiï¬cation. A set of speech features and classiï¬ers were deï¬ned to achieve the best recognition rates for local and remote optical access. The experiments showed the feasibility and importance of using the biometric technology for the optical communications security.
